A worker can't clock in unless they're physically inside the site boundary. No clocking in from the van in the yard, no clocking in for someone else — the location check happens the moment they tap the button, in the foreground, on their own action.
Clock-out isn't blocked the same way — it's captured and used to judge the record, not to trap a worker on site if their phone loses signal on the way out.

Once clocked in, a Live Activity (iOS) or persistent notification (Android) shows right on the lock screen — clocked in, since when, no need to reopen the app to check.

Three states, not a pass/fail. A worker who clocked in on site but clocked out off site gets flagged for a human to judge — never auto-blocked over it.
Honest records, not brittle ones
A record that holds up, without being unforgiving.
Real site work doesn't always end exactly at the gate. Time entries record what actually happened — on-site in and out (verified), on-site in but off-site out (flagged, a judgement call), or force-closed after an auto-clock-out threshold with no clock-out at all (unverified). Nothing gets silently smoothed over, and nothing gets punished for an honest edge case.
